November 3rd was the Tuesday after Halloween (when Yale had whipped Colgate) and they were preparing to face Brown in the last game at Yale Field before a road game at Princeton and their first game at the Yale Bowl (spoiled by Harvard).

1914 was Hinkey's first season as coach. And 1915 was Shevlin's last, of course.
