Summary: Print shows a member of the new French aristocracy wearing a Phrygian or Liberty cap with circular emblem (Liberté - Egalité - Fraternité) riding on the back of a French citizen; he implores, 'Messrs. of the menage - I again ascend the Tribune to endeavour to spur you on to action! The enemy has the whip hand of us, and unless we keep a tight rein those cunning jockies Suwarrow and the Arch Duke will throw us from our saddles!....' In 1799, Russian forces under Field Marshal Aleksandr Vasil'evich Suvorov defeated the French in Italy.
