Caption: Calexico, Cal. - New River, cut by the Colorado River flood in 1905, is bridged near here by this siphon and wasteway on the route of the All-American Canal. Controlled by the Boulder Dam, the Colorado's tamed waters are diverted by Imperial Dam near Yuma, carried 80 miles to irrigate Imperial Valley lands. This siphon is in 10 sections of pipe, each 72 feet long, 15 1/2 feet in diameter, weighing 42 tons.
