This cartoon is a caricature of a Marine recruiting poster titled 'Teufel Hunden, German nickname for U.S. Marines' POS - US.H02, no. 1 (C size). Teufel Hunden can be translated as Devil Dog. The Second Battle of the Marne was the first major battle in which American forces participated.
