Caption from caption list: Ten years ago before he ever dreamed of coming to Congress, Martin L. Davey, then engaged at his profession as a tree surgeon, secured a contract to treat some of the more important trees on the Capitol grounds. Among these was the famous Washington elm, under which George Washington is said to have repeatedly sat and eat his lunch while the Capitol was under construction. Photo shows Mr Davey now a member of congress inspecting his work of over ten years ago.
