Summary: Group images collected by General Hugh L. Scott include Scott addressing representatives from 13 Northwest Indian tribes in sign language at old Fort Union, N.D., 1925; Scott accepting a beaded gun case from Chief Curley Bear [Blackfeet] and other Indians at Glacier National Park, August 1925; Scott posed outdoors with a group of Navajos, Crown Point, N.M., 1925; Scott with Kiowa Indians and others in Kansas, 1927; a family of Blackfeet Indians sitting on a lawn, Carlisle, Pa.; and Yaqui Indians dancing. Individual portrait postcards and photographic prints include Horace P. Jones, an Indian interpreter from Fort Sill, Okla., 1890; Mountain Chief [Piegan] with two others; Ghost Bear [Yankton Sioux]; and Shoshoni, Navajo, Pawnee, Nez Perce, Blackfeet, Arapaho, and Kiowa tribal members. Also includes a photograph of a sketch depicting an Indian writing/drawing on the side of a cliff.
