Summary: Cartoon shows a man in 18th century dress (labeled 'D.C.) saluting General John J. Pershing in front of Union Station. In September 1919, General Pershing, commander of the American forces in Europe during World War I, returned to the United States to a hero's welcome. His special train arrived in Union Station on September 12, and a few days later he addressed a Joint Session of the Congress.
